Studies have shown that the benefits of physical exercise are immeasurable. Even moderate physical activity can improve the health of people who are frail, or have conditions that accompany ageing. Being physically active can help you to stay strong and fit enough to keep doing the things you enjoy, and we firmly believe in the old adage - 'use it or lose it.'
The Neurobics exercise programme can help you to improve your general health and enable you to maintain your independence for as long as possible. For example, studies have proven that, people with heart disease, high blood pressure, poor mobility, arthritis or diabetes, benefit greatly from regular physical exercise.
In addition to the above, the Neurobics physical fitness programme can lighten your mood, lower your stress levels and improve and maintain many aspects of cognitive function.

Up until recently, neurologists believed that the human brain develops during a critical period in early childhood, and then remains relatively 'static'.
In the past, it was generally accepted that the brain was 'hardwired' with fixed neuronal circuits. There was a prevailing sense that we are powerless to protect ourselves against neurological decline.
HOWEVER, towards the end of the 20th century, research began to demonstrate that many aspects of the brain can be altered well into old age, and there is now a great deal of consensus amongst leading neurologists that our ability to stay healthy - emotionally, physically and mentally, is to a large extent, influenced by factors within our control.

MUSIC & RHYTHM - Musical and Rhythm have remarkable benefits for - the heart, lungs, mobility, memory, throat, sinuses, posture, balance, mood etc. It brings back the feeling of 'life' when nothing else can. Neurobics works in partnership with the Ronnie Gardner Movement & Rhythm Method (RGM).
BRAIN STIMULATION - Our brain stimulation exercises are fun and challenging. We know there is a 'super hero' in everyone and we provide the tools and strategies to discover your own powers.
PHYSICAL FITNESS - Our physical fitness programme uses the BEST strategies (Balance - Endurance - Strength - Total Flexibility). Although it is challenging, we ensure that everybody is encouraged to progress as their own pace, and it is a lot of fun. Neurobics works in partnership with Ageless Grace Brain Body Fitness programme.
MEDITATION - Meditation has been practised for thousands of years to promote spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing, and now, neuro-scientists have discovered how it can fight disease and counteract neurological decline. At Neurobics, we believe that meditation can be a gateway to a healthier lifestyle.
ART - Creative expression is the key to improving mental stimulation. Art opens the mind, improves memory and is a great way of communicating what words can't. Art invokes memories and is a way of demonstrating that we can all add beauty to the world.
LAUGHTER - The power of laughter is one of the most under-valued benefits of strengthening the mind, body and soul. Our 'laugh with us' programme teaches our participants that laughter is the best medicine known to man (and woman!). It is a powerful antidote to stress, anxiety and pain. In addition, laughter boosts immunity, relieves stress, improves mood, improves memory and strenghthens relationships. Laughter is the battery which powers and enriches the entire Neurobics programme.
